Powell & Co Construction Ltd are a family-owned leading manufacturer of commercial poultry housing. Manufacturing steel frame buildings for industrial, agriculture, retail and commercial sectors. Due to our continued success, Powell and Co are looking for a Design and Technical Detailer. Due to an increasing portfolio of projects, an excellent opportunity has arisen for a Design and Technical Detailer to join our Operations team working at our head office based in Kingsland, near Leominster, Herefordshire

 

The Role:
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the design and production of drawings to meet the strict deadlines laid out. Communicating at all stages to progress the design ready for sign-off. The role needs to ensure all technical detail is implemented efficiently and correctly. You will need to support members of the design team to meet required deadlines and ensure clear communication with the Operations manager.

 

Responsibilities:
• To produce accurate designs and drawings to enable the fabrication and erection of our units.
• Liase with the Operations Manager and Technical Sales Manager to ensure deadlines are met.
• Generation and communication of all design requirements from the sales team and other aspects of the business.
• To ensure a high level of detail is given to designs ensuring maximum efficiency.
• Commercial awareness surrounding all designs.
• Ensure all designs fully meet specifications.
• Where required arrange peer reviews.
• Ensure daily punctuality and time management meet business requirements.
• Develop individual training plans to support personal and Business development.
• To develop with the management team suitable and relevant KPI measures.
• To monitor and maintain all tracking and traceability platforms to ensure all projects run smoothly and remain on schedule.
• Production of accurate BOMS to meet the full design specifications.
• Support/mentor team members in line with specific roles.
• Share and support knowledge and transition of specific tasks in line with company strategy.
• Understand all minutes obtained during the weekly production meeting for full awareness.
• Lead and encourage active involvement in developing systems and software to progress the business.
• Creating prescribed processes for your individual roles and responsibilities.
• To perform any other reasonable request where required by the business.
• Support operations manager to become a key contingency.

Remuneration:
Negotiable depending on experience.
