Broiler Houses, North Wales
Powell & Co were appointed as principal contractor for the construction of three broiler houses for Amber REI in North Wales. From design through to groundworks to construction through to completion with third-party suppliers, the project was completed on time and in full.
Each boiler house is 360ft by 80ft with sustainably sourced timber-clad ends to meet the specific local authority requirements related to visual impact. Groundworks were completed by ANMAC, who, from breaking the ground through to concreting, delivered a high-quality base for steel and construction. Steel was fabricated at the Powell & Co Shobdon factory to the exacting requirements of the drawings.
To support the operational aspects of the boiler houses, several contractors were used. These included JB Heating for plumbing and heating, JF McKenna, who installed the ventilation with the addition of heat exchangers and electrical work completed by Iwan Jones. The build was completed ahead of schedule and on budget.
