Elliott (Agriculture) Ltd, Wrexham
Located near Wrexham is Elliott (Agriculture) Ltd, a father and daughter 5th generation farming family who have diversified into broiler production. In 2014 Kathryn’s father Mike speculatively purchased un-serviced land with a vision to build broiler houses further securing the future of the family business.
During the planning process, Kathryn and her husband Neil visited a number of sites to gain first-hand insight into what they wanted in the design and construction of the boiler houses. When planning was finally granted construction started on the 4 hectare site to build two 320ft by 70ft broiler houses and a supporting amenity block. In Olive green, the sheds feature the latest tunnel ventilation system and ground source heating. Each unit holds 41,000 Ross broilers with the birds sent the short journey to be processed at Maelor Foods Ltd, the UK’s premier state of the art purpose-built poultry slaughtering facility based in Wrexham.
