Christmas Grotto at St Michael’s Hospice

Christmas Grotto at St Michael’s Hospice

The St Michael’s Hospice Summer House, kindly donated by Powell & Co, is in full swing, playing a vital role in the community.

Having been divided into two, the venue boasts a relaxing snug giving patients and their loved ones some space to relax while taking in the best view from St Michael’s. The rest of the Summer House has been turned into a carpentry workshop, a space devoted to patients to hammer, saw and plane until their heart’s content. The venue has also played a central role in a number of events held by St Michael’s – each raising funds for the Hospice. It was opened as an attraction during the Hospice’s annual Plant Fair before going on to host families bringing children to the St Michael’s Halloween Pumpkin Walk.

The Summer House will play a key part in the Hospice’s festive events when it becomes a Santa’s Grotto from 5th-8th December and 12th-14th December at St Michael’s Hospice, Bartestree, HR1 4HA.
