Lancashire Poultry Club Donation

Lancashire Poultry Club receives generous donation from Powell & Co which Jon Mason of Lancashire Poultry Club presented to Derian House at recent dinner.

Jason Powell, director and owner of the leading UK Poultry Housing & Steel Fabrication business Powell & Co, donated £1,000 to a chosen charity at the Lancashire Poultry Club March meeting.

The charity, chosen by Mrs Maines a member of the club, was Derian House in Chorley.  They help children and young people, whose lives are too short, to make happy memories in an environment of fun, respect and above all, high-quality care.  The charity is close to Mrs Maines heart after she sadly lost her son 23 years ago and kindly donated all the money raised at his funeral to Derian House.

The crucial support Derian House receives provides young people with the means to fund a whole host of activities, projects, and services, as well as the provision of specialist support to children and families throughout the region.

Jon Mason of Lancashire Poultry Club said, “It was a fantastic and generous donation from Jason at our March club meeting. The Lancashire Poultry Club creates a social environment for both poultry producers and members of the trade to meet and we were delighted to receive the donation to gift to a charity chosen by one of our members Along with other funds the total cheque presented in September was £2,410.”

“A £1,000 donation could cover the cost for a family to enjoy a week at Derian’s House fully-accessible, specially adapted Derian Holiday Lodge. The lodge enables young people to have the freedom to choose how to spend their time or for families to have some respite. It is a great honour to provide a donation to the Lancashire Poultry Club to pass onto this fantastic charity”, commented Jason Powell, Director of Powell & Co.
